Frankly, I cringe when looking at these old pages today (this one's from October 2008). A lot of what I've been drawing on this comic is out of my comfort zone. And this was also my first full-color comic, which means it took me forever to complete pages, and the coloring is quite... amateurish. However, that also means my improvement on this comic is more significant than on my other comics. Once we catch up with my more recent pages, the art should get more pleasing to the eye. Which is why pages are updating daily for now - so we quickly get to the better art ^_^

I wrote this whole 4-page-monologue in one sitting, but then I always fiddle around with it a bit when lettering the page. I hope it still flows well enough and works for you.

Regarding the "ministry of health and welfare", I have no idea whether the corresponding US ministry is actually called like that. I am neither that knowledgeable about US interior politics, nor would I want to be that accurate here. Also, I don't mean to insinuate that Aria has ties to the US government, but that someone who is funding her also has their people in certain ministries. And lastly: Tony Stark may have opposed arm trade with terrorists or some such (- this is a comment I wrote shortly after the first Iron Man movie came out -); I want to stress the fact that, considering her field of expertise, Aria would oppose ANY sort of arms trade... not to mention their manufacturing and actual use.

Oh, and there's a little in-joke with the flags in the background. I don't expect anyone to figure it out, but please... surprise me ;-)

Pages from issue 0 and issue 1 are going to update daily.

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Um, I guess that could be taken as "fishing for compliments" on my part :D

It's a matter of not meeting my own standards because of too little experience. I did little more on this page than fill in the shapes with random colors (as oposed to choosing a specific color palette) and throw some pretty simple cell-shading and gradients on them. There is no distinction in brightness or saturation between Aria and the guy behind her. There is no texturing whatsoever. Everything's glossy to the point of being lifeless. Walls don't look like that, except in cheap anime maybe. Glass doesn't look like that. Suitcases don't reflect light like that. And so on.

I guess I watch too much cheap anime =p

It looks good enough and conveys what it should. Especially for some bland UN offices and hallways.

I wouldn't bother going the extra mile unless the setting is a bit more extravagant myself. But then again your work tends to look more high quality so maybe that should tell me something else? :P

Crap... you hooked another compliment! You're good!

Haha! Thank you very much!

I do think your coloring looks great, by the way.
